Tanzstadt: Bremen, der Zusammenschluss der wichtigsten Bremer Tanzinstitutionen, schlägt mit diesem Festival ein neues Kapitel auf: Alle Partner von TANZstadt: Bremen zeigen an verschiedenen Orten dieser Stadt ihre neuesten Produktionen und spiegeln damit eine inhaltliche und formale Vielfalt, die ihresgleichen sucht. Das Spektrum reicht von den Uraufführungen der professionellen Ensembles über Tanztheater für Kinder, von den Kreationen der Schulklassen und Ausbildungsstätten bis zu der Dokumentation von Tanzfilmen und Videos. Der Tanz in Bremen ist eine der lebendigsten, inspiriertesten und produktivsten Kunstsparten mit einer berühmten Tradition, die vor 35 Jahren mit der ersten Ära Johann Kresniks begründet wurde.
Dank der TANZstadt: Bremen werden die kreativen Potenziale der Stadt gebündelt, vernetzt und wirksam präsentiert. Die norddeutsche Tanzmetropole setzt damit im internationalen Kontext des Festivals einen kraftvollen, innovativen Akzent, und zugleich stellt sich die Bremer Tanzlandschaft einem überregionalem Publikum.

TANZstadt: Bremen, the collaborative project by Bremen’s most important dance institutions, is opening a new chapter with this festival. All the partners of TANZstadt: Bremen are showing their latest productions at various locations in this city and thus reflecting an unequalled diversity of content and form. The spectrum ranges from world premières of the professional ensembles to dance theatre for children, from work by school classes and training institutions to the documentation of dance films and videos. Dance is one of the most lively, inspired and productive fields of art in Bremen with a renowned tradition, initiated 35 years ago by Johann Kresnik’s first era.
Thanks to TANZstadt: Bremen the creative potential of the city’s dance sector is being collected, interlinked and effectively displayed. Within the international context of the festival, the north German dance metropolis is making a powerful, innovative gesture and simultaneously presenting Bremen’s dance environment to a public extending far beyond the region.

TANZstadt: Bremen is one of the central projects within Bremen’s application for the status of Cultural Capital 2010.
